LibraryStaff Census (under development)
The staff census is a database
designed to provide up-to-date information on Library professional
and support workers, including personnel histories, salary information,
and
staff deployment. In addition, the census contains an historical record
of
staffing patterns that can be used to track the evolution of personnel
assignments over time and across the
functional divisions and units that
make up the Library. In this way the census enables immediate
analysis
of the transfer of human resources to fulfill important service functions
like cataloging, collection development, and reference. That analysis
can help us to align staffing and strategic priorities, and predict
future
personnel requirements
. Because of the confidential nature of this database,
the Library Staff Census can only be accessed by authorized individuals. |
